JA Solar replaces CEO with chairman

Fang Peng is out after three years of service.

JA Solar will on 21 January replace chief executive Fang Peng with chairman Jin Baofang, who briefly served as chief executive prior to Fang’s appointment in 2010.

The Chinese PV group says Fang’s departure comes at the natural end of his three-year term of service. However, his dismissal adds to the expanding list of Chinese PV chiefs who have resigned, been shown to the exit, or taken on new roles in recent months – including LDK’s Xiaofeng Peng and Suntech’s Shi Zhengrong.

JA made no indication that Fang will remain with the company in any capacity.
