Duke completes NC PV project

Another of Duke Energy's US plants

A unit of Duke Energy has completed construction of the 12.5MW Washington White Post PV solar project in North Carolina that will supply electricity for about 3,000 homes.

Duke Energy Renewables contracted with SunEnergy1, a solar design, engineering and construction company, to build the 53,000-panel PV project.

SunEnergy1 will also operate, monitor and maintain the facility.

North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency (NCEMPA) is purchasing the power generated through a 15-year agreement.

"With the 11 MW of commercial solar power we already generate in North Carolina, the Beaufort County facility more than doubles our solar capacity in the state," says Duke Energy Renewables President Greg Wolf.
