Of
the
1GW
to
be
added
this
year,
400MW
will
come
from
systems
larger
than
250kW,
including
ground-mounted
installations
–
a
segment
the
French
government
has
been
keen
to
downplay
in
recent
years.
The
focus
for
ground-mounted
projects
will
be
on
degraded
sites,
such
as
landfills
of
disused
quarries,
with
farmland
essentially
off
limits.
The
government
also
aims
to
encourage
the
use
of
innovative
technology
at
large
systems,
such
as
concentrated
PV
–
a
boon
to
local
manufacturers
like
Soitec.
