quarter
installations
were
the
third
most
on
record
for
the
period
and
a
44%
increase
from
a
year
earlier,
although
they
declined
12%
from
the
second
quarter.
There
is
now
a
total
of
5.9GW
of
PV
operating
in
the
US
from
over
271,000
installations.
SEIA
forecasts
that
an
additional
1.2GW
of
PV
capacity
will
be
installed
this
quarter,
bringing
the
2012
total
to
3.2GW.
Given
this
growth,
US
share
of
global
installations
will
rise
to
over
10%
from
7%
in
2011
and
less
than
5%
in
2010.
