China's Goldwind to enter solar industry with PV inverter factory

Chinese wind turbine maker Goldwind is moving into the solar industry with plans to produce inverters for PV power plants.

The company, China’s second-largest wind turbine manufacturer, says it signed an agreement earlier this month with Jiuquan city industrial park in Gansu province to develop a new production facility with capacity for 2,000 inverters per year.

The new factory will start production by the end of April.

A Chinese news report also claims Goldwind plans to build a 30MW solar power plant on the outskirts of Jiuquan. Goldwind says it cannot confirm this.
