Bosch considering solar options and even exit, reports claim

Franz Fehrenbach, chairman of German industrial giant Robert Bosch, is having second thoughts about his company’s massive push into solar energy, with reports suggesting Bosch is considering leaving the sector altogether.

Other options on the table, according to German press reports, include linking up with a partner in Asia or simply biding its time to see what the PV industry looks like once the dust has settled from the ongoing consolidation phase.

The company is understood to favour some solution that would keep it in the PV game for the long run. But even the suggestion that it could cut its losses and walk away underscores the severity of the doubts dogging even the most cash-rich, long-term investors.
