EDF starts-up 56MW French array with First Solar modules

EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF-EN) has commissioned a 56MW solar array in north-central France, with the developer continuing to act as a major gateway into the French market for First Solar.

The Massangis array, in the Bourgogne region of France, was initiated in 2010 and built in several stages. The final array incorporates 700,000 of First Solar’s thin-film modules and will be maintained by EDF-EN Services.

The commissioning ceremony comes less than three weeks after EDF-EN finished work at the 60MW Crucey array on disused NATO air base near Chartres, in the centre of France – also using First Solar modules.
