Foxconn may supply solar modules to 310MW China project

Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn may supply solar modules to GCL-Poly’s 310MW project in Shanxi, northwest China, says a spokesman.

Media reports last week quoted Shu Hua, executive president of GCL-Poly, as saying that his company would build and jointly operate the project in Datong with Foxconn.

Foxconn would assemble solar modules using cells supplied by GCL for the plant, according to the reports.

However Simon Hsing, spokesman at Hon Hai, owner of Foxconn, tells Recharge that a supply deal with GCL-Poly is not yet confirmed.
