Brazil's Bioenergy ramps up PV portfolio with 1MW deal

Brazilian developer Bioenergy has purchased a 1MW solar project for R$7m ($3.5m).

The PV power plant, bought from renewable energy group Solyes, should come on line in 2013.

It will be built in Oliveira dos Brejinhos, Bahia state, using polycrystalline, monocrystalline and thin-film technologies from 10 different manufacturers, testing which operates best in Brazilian conditions.

A contract for the electricity produced at the plant has already been sold via the unregulated Brazilian power market to supply a bank’s headquarters.
