China 'concerned' as India ponders PV dumping probe

India has installed more than 1GW of solar power capacity in less than two years

India may be close to launching an anti-dumping investigation into Chinese solar panels, according to an industry association official.

Indian manufacturers filed a request with their government to launch an anti-dumping probe into Chinese PV products several months ago, says Jagat Jawa, director general of the Solar Energy Society of India.

It is thought that the government is close to making a decision on whether to proceed with the investigation.

“There has been no formal announcement. But we have some information suggesting that they will soon issue this notice,” an official in the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) tells Recharge.
