Now China may probe EU poly imports in latest 'dumping' twist

China’s Ministry of Commerce is studying a request by four of its major polysilicon producers to launch anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations into imports of the material from the EU, according to a report.

State-owned news agency Xinhua cites Lu Jinbiao, deputy head of Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon, as saying the ministry had received a request from his company and three others. Officials are now studying the application, he says.

A spokesman at GCL-Poly, owner of Jiangsu Zhongneng, declined to confirm the report, which would represent yet another addition to the growing list of trade rows to erupt this year in the global solar industry.
