San Antonio utility seals 'largest' US municipal solar deal

Texas utility CPS Energy and developer OCI Solar Power have finalised an agreement that will see 400MW of PV capacity and significant production facilities built in the state.

The deal – negotiations over which were first reported by Recharge in January – will result in development of the biggest municipal-backed solar project in the US, says CPS, which is owned by the city of San Antonio.

CPS will buy the output from the 400MW of solar capacity under a 25-year power-purchase agreement (PPA).
