New York State draws solar, transmission, wind proposals

Eighty-five private developers, investor-owned utilities, financial firms and other entities have submitted 130 proposals to revitalize New York State’s aging energy infrastructure, including a solar project up to 2GW.

A task force appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo to implement his administration’s Energy Highway initiative will accept public comment on the proposals through 31 July. They total more than 25GW in new and revamped generating and transmission capacity. There are 51 projects for generation, 29 for transmission, four natural gas pipelines and 46 ideas that tackle different energy issues.
