'Retaliatory' Chinese investigation will hurt US polysilicon makers

US polysilicon manufacturers and analysts say the Chinese trade investigations are clearly in retaliation for tariffs levied against Chinese PV cell imports and could have a significant impact on US players.

The news that the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom) will pursue allegations that US polysilicon manufacturers received unfair government subsidies and illegally dumped their products in China came as little surprise to many in the industry, as it had been rumored since the US began its investigation last autumn.
