Efacec to build 1MW of rooftop PV for Brazil's Eletrosul

The project is due to come on line during 2013

Portuguese group Efacec has won the tender to build a 1MW PV installation for Brazilian state utility Eletrosul.

The R$8m ($4m) project will be built on the roof of Eletrosul headquarters in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina state.

The project had originally been budgeted at R$9.5m, but Efacec and its Brazilian subsidiary came in 15% lower. Elecnor, Cymi and Kyocera also participated in the tender.

Electricty from the PV installation, made up of 4,000 modules, will be sold on Brazil’s unregulated power market.

The project is due to come on line during 2013.
