Chinese examine claims of Korean polysilicon dumping

China’s Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom) has accepted a request from its polysilicon industry to look into allegations of dumping by Korean competitors but has not yet decided whether to proceed with a formal investigation, says the Korean embassy in Beijing.

The development, revealed by the Korean ambassador to China in his weekly news briefing, marks a further step in a growing trade row between China and other markets over clean-energy products.

According to the Korean embassy, a notice from Mofcom states that it has started to carry out inquiries into claims of dumping of Korean polysilicon into China.

The ambassador advised that after accepting such a case, discussions usually take around one month before a decision is made on whether to start a formal investigation.
