SolarStrong expands to bases in California and Colorado

SolarCity and its US military housing development partner Lend Lease are moving forward their SolarStrong portfolio with installations on three US Air Force Bases.

The companies teamed up for an effort to build up to 300MW of solar on 120,000 housing units over five years, contributing to a Department of Defense goal of 25% renewable energy by 2025.

Lend Lease manages housing at military bases across the country, including Los Angeles Air Force Base in California and Peterson and Schriever bases in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Each will receive solar energy systems built, installed and maintained by SolarCity.
