Parabel races FIT cut-off for final 50MW of German PV array

PV developer Parabel is counting on receiving within the next few weeks the planning consents needed to build the final 50MW of its 90MW Marienfliess array before Germany’s feed-in tariff (FIT) for large projects expires on 30 September.

Andreas Jessel, a spokesman for the Berlin-based developer, tells Recharge that all necessary permits should be in hand by early August, “which would give us just enough time for construction”.

If the consents do not come in soon enough, the second half of the array – known as Krempendorf – will be shrunk, he says.

Parabel recently built and commissioned the first 40MW of capacity – known as Jännersdorf – at a disused military site in the German state of Brandenburg in less than six weeks, with construction workers on site from daybreak…
