Court approves sale of STA projects to BrightSource, NextEra

A US bankruptcy court approved the sale of Solar Trust of America's development rights for two huge California projects to NextEra Energy Resources and BrightSource Energy.

BrightSource Energy, the solar power tower developer, picks up the partially-permitted 500MW Palen project. US renewable energy giant NextEra Energy Resources adds the 1GW Blythe project to its growing solar stable.

NextEra is to pay $10m at the closing of the sale and $40,000 per MW of generating capacity – up to $40m Log in to read complete article.
