Australia’s only FIT-supported solar tender gets early boost

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has received a flood of applications to compete for Australia’s only large-scale solar scheme supported by a feed-in tariff (FIT).

Twenty-seven proposals have been nominated to be “fast-tracked”, with pricing offers to be considered in the middle of 2012, says ACT’s environment minister Simon Corbell.

Proposals with the best capacity and track record to deliver the project will be shortlisted and invited mid-year to compete in a reverse auction to provide 20MW of the total 40MW allotted. The remaining 20MW will be allocated early next year.
