SolFocus, Mexican developers plan 450MW CPV project

US concentrating PV (CPV) manufacturer SolFocus will supply equipment for a development in Baja California, Mexico, that would be among the largest of its type in the world.

Grupo Musa, a real estate company in Mexico, and Synergy Technologies, a US energy developer, are planning a 450MW CPV project near the city of Tecate, just south of the US-Mexico border. Construction on the first 50MW increment is to begin late this year.

Grupo Musa , which owns the project site, intends to consume most of the output of this initial phase at its various facilities.
