UK PV hopes luck will turn after Friday 13 FIT showdown

The UK’s Court of Appeal has set Friday 13 January as the date when the British PV industry will gain clarity on the country’s controversial feed-in tariff (FIT) changes.

The High Court recently ruled against the UK government, saying it had acted in a “legally flawed” manner when it indicated it would lower the solar FIT from mid-December – nearly two weeks before a consultation on the changes had been completed.

On 4 January the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) lodged an appeal against the ruling.

Next week's hearing will be “rolled-up” so that a government application for permission to appeal and the appeal itself will be held on the same day, according to lawyers for environment group Log in to read complete article.
