Duke signs 20MW of solar power supply deals in Arizona

A unit of Duke Energy has signed two 25-year agreements with utility Arizona Public Service to supply power from solar projects that it has acquired in the state from developer Recurrent Energy.

Duke Energy Renewables says the deals cover the 15MW Baghdad Solar Project that is due to achieve commercial operation later this month and the 5MW Ajo Solar project, whose start-up was in September. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“This acquisition puts Duke Energy in a position to help Arizona’s largest and longest-serving energy service provider deliver even more affordable, zero-emission renewable power to its customers,” says Duke Energy Renewables President Greg Wolf.
