Chinese will 'fight to final stage' in US PV trade row, says lawyer

Chinese solar manufacturers will "fight to the final stage" against charges that they have dumped products on the US market, says their lawyer – even as the companies insisted they want to avoid a full-blown trade war.

A statement issued today by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products ( CCCME) claims “the underlying reason for the commercial success of Chinese PV companies in the US is their competitive advantages on the market, not low-price dumping or government subsidies”.

It comes as the US ITC prepares to vote this week on whether there is sufficient basis for an investigation into dumping of Chinese solar panels on the US market.
