operating
CPV
facility
in
North
America,
according
to
NextEra,
surpassing
a
2MW
plant
at
the
University
of
Arizona.
NextEra
has
a
25-year
power
purchase
agreement
with
utility
El
Paso
Electric
for
the
electricity
generated.
The
solar
plant
is
expected
to
power
about
1,300
homes
in
the
area.
The
plant
uses
84,
60kW
units
from
CPV
technology
specialist
Amonix,
which
has
deployed
dual-axis
tracking
systems
to
maximise
energy
production
throughout
daylight
