Samsung
SDI,
the
unit
taking
over
Samsung
Electronics’
solar
business,
is
aiming
to
reach
3GW
of
thin-film
production
capacity
by
2015,
it
says
in
a
statement.
It
expects
to
generate
revenues
of
3.5
trillion
won
($3.3bn)
in
2015
from
the
new
solar
business.
Samsung
declines
to
reveal
current
revenues
from
its
solar
operations,
but
its
capacity
is
small,
standing
at
just
120MW
by
January
this
year.
The
company
entered
the
sector
in
July
2009
-
relatively
late
compared
with
its
peers
-
and
makes
crystalline
silicon
cells
and
some
of
its
own
