Foundations
are
being
laid
in
Australia
for
a
new
water-free
solar-thermal
farm
that
is
on
track
to
be
the
largest
of
its
kind
once
it
is
up
and
running
early
next
year.
The
demonstration
facility,
being
built
at
the
Commonwealth
Scientific
and
Industrial
Research
Organisation’s
(
CSIRO)
National
Solar
Energy
Centre
in
Newcastle,
New
South
Wales,
will
be
made
up
of
450
heliostat
mirrors,
a
30-metre-tall
receiving
tower
and
a
Brayton-cycle-driven
turbine
system.
