Duke Energy’s renewables unit says it has acquired two 20MW (AC) solar projects in California from developer Infigen Energy, with construction expected to begin on both later this year.

Financial terms of the transaction were not made public.

Electricity generated from the two projects will be sold through 20-year power purchase agreements with utility Southern California Edison. They are located in Kern County near Bakersfield.

After their completion, Duke will own and operate more than 65MW of solar power in the state and 185MW at 23 facilities nationwide.

In 2013, Duke Energy Renewables built the 21MW Highlander Solar Power Project in Twentynine Palms and acquired the 4.5MW Sunset Reservoir project in San Francisco.
