Germany’s SMA Solar has won a deal to supply inverters to Canada’s largest PV plant and will take over operational management at the 100MW facility.

Subsidiary SMA Canada will provide 130 Sunny Central inverters to the Grand Renewable Solar plant in Ontario.

The inverters will be delivered from early 2014.

Following its completion, due in 2015, SMA will also handle operations at the plant for 10 years on behalf of Samsung-owned project company Grand Renewable Solar.

The project will utilise 440,000 modules supplied by Canadian Solar, which is also providing EPC services.

Samsung Renewable Energy is developing the project as part of a 2010 framework agreement with the Ontario government that has since been revised downward to include 300MW of solar capacity.
