French concentrating PV (CPV) developer Soitec has finished building the 1.5MW Newberry Solar 1 project in California.

Power generated by the solar farm, which uses the company's fifth-generation Concentrix CX-S530 CPV systems, will be sold to Southern California Edison under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The 720 CX-M500 modules installed for Newberry Solar 1 were produced at Soitec's North American manufacturing headquarters in San Diego, opened last December, on fully automated assembly lines.
