Gestamp, Solarpack finish 40MW in Peru

Gestamp Solar and Solarpack have completed Panamericana Solar, the second of two 20MW PV arrays they had under development in Peru, several months later than initially planned.

In November they commissioned the Tacna project – which is backed by US group Conduit Capital Partners – and had anticipated finishing the sister Panamericana Solar project by the end of 2012. Both were awarded to Gestamp and Solarpack in a February 2010 tender.

The two projects, which employ modules from China’s Yingli, are contracted to supply 98GWh of electricity annually into Peru’s grid for 20 years.
