KKR buys Ontario solar assets

Global investment giant KKR has bought 69MW of solar assets in the Canadian province of Ontario.

KKR acquired SSM Solar from Starwood Energy Group for an undisclosed sum.

Located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, the three-project SSM Solar development is one of the the largest PV facilities in North America and the second largest in Canada, says KKR.

SSM has a 20-year deal to sell its power to the Ontario Power Authority and delivers electricity for about 7,000 homes.
