The Abengoa-built solar-thermal plant in Chile

Spain’s Abengoa says it has completed the first solar-thermal plant in South America for a customer in Chile.

Abengoa has handed over the 10MW facility to owner Minera El Tesoro, which will use it to help supply process heat to operations at a copper mine.

The Spanish group installed almost 1,300 solar-thermal collector modules over a six hectare site.
