Canadian Solar in 23MW US deal

Canadian Solar will supply 23.5MW of solar panels to EPC contractor National Renewable Energy Corporation (Narenco) for four utility-scale PV projects southeast of Raleigh, the state capital of North Carolina.

It will deliver 84,480 of its CS6X modules for three 6.48MW arrays in Wayne county, as well as a 5.83MW site in Duplin county. It did not reveal the terms of the deal.

Adding to its focus on North America and Japan, Canadian Solar over the past month has opened a new project, and announced a module supply deal, in China, where it does most of its manufacturing.

Last week, it commissioned its first major utility-scale PV project there with a 30MW ground-mount array in the country’s Xinjiang region. In December, it secured a 100MW agreement to equip two plants in Gansu province and a third in Inner Mongolia.
