ReneSola wins 29MW Chile order
ReneSola will supply 29MW of PV modules to solar developer Saferay for a utility-scale plant in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
The New York-listed Chinese PV manufacturer will deliver 7.5MW of panels this month and another 21.5MW in January.
Berlin-based Saferay will install the panels at the La Huayca II plant, as an expansion of the 1.4MW La Huayca I project, which was finished last year.
The La Huayca project is not supported by a feed-in tariff or power purchase agreement and will sell its power on the spot market, Saferay said.
ReneSola, based in China's Zhejiang province, in July raised its 2013 module shipment guidance by 100MW to between 2.8GW and 3GW, citing sales growth in several overseas markets.
A ReneSola spokesperson told Recharge that the company expects to ship more panels to South America in the fourth quarter, but declined to elaborate.
