Trina will begin delivering the more than 1.1 million modules which will make up the third phase of the Copper Mountain complex in Nevada, with commissioning expected in early 2015.
The order is huge even by the standards of Trina, equivalent to more than 12% of the 2GW or so the company expects to ship this year.
AMEC, which has bought modules from Trina's rival Jinko Solar for past US projects, is building Copper Mountain 3 for Sempra.
