The plant, called ProjectSalvador, will be built and equipped by SunPower , Total’s US-based PV systemssubsidiary, in Chile’s Atacama region.

The $200m cost of theproject will be 70% met by debt finance from the US government’s OverseasPrivate Investment Corporation (OPIC), said a statement.

Etrion, Total and a thirdpartner, Solventus Energías Renovables, will provide the balance of the equity in linewith their respective stakes of 70%, 20% and 10%.
