Wood Group wins $2m CSP deal

UK contractor Wood Group GTS has secured a $2m deal to deliver a pair of GE A-14 steam turbines for Abengoa’s 250MW Mojave concentrating solar power (CSP) project in California.

Under the contract with from main contractor ARB, Wood Group will handle equipment installation, including precision alignment of the 'center-line' between the parabolic trough-based CSP development’s steam turbine and turbo-generator, as well as start-up and commissioning of both units.

"Mojave Solar is a high-profile project for ARB and California. We depend on the support of reliable partners to ensure timely delivery of the construction phase. We value our long-term relationship with Wood Group GTS and are confident of their ability to meet project deadlines," says ARB president Tim Healy.

The $1.6bn Mojave CSP plant, which is located northeast of Los Angeles, is slated to come online next year.
