EGP has already planted its flag as a significant player in Chile’s emerging wind sector, having recently completed its 90MW Talinay project, and with two otherwind projects totaling nearly 190MW under construction.

The $60m Diego de Almagro array, which has a 15-year power purchase agreement, will employ thin-film modules produced by 3Sun, the Sicily-based joint-venture betweenEGP, Sharp and STMicroelectronics.

3Sun’s order book has strengthened significantly over the past few weeks, with the Chilean project following 314MW of PV capacity won last month by EGP in SouthAfrica’s latest bidding round.
