By April of this year, Tokyo-based developer SB Energy had connected 139MW of solar to the grid, with an additional 304MW under construction throughout the country.
It has also made its first moves into wind power, with a 48MW project currently under construction near the western city of Hamada and an additional 100MW near-shore installation now in the early stages of development near the eastern port of Kashima.
