Hon Hai —also known as Foxconn — has paid ¥388.8bn ($3.5bn) for the two-thirds stake, or about ¥88 per share, which is roughly $800m below an offer it extended in late February.

As part of the landmark deal — the biggest-ever acquisition of a Japanese technology company by a foreign concern — Foxconn and its affiliates will pay roughly ¥288.8bn
