Hecate, based in Tennessee, was the biggest winner in Ontario’s first storage procurement round, securing a contract with the province’s grid operator to build a 13MW/53MWh six-site installation using Li-ion batteries.
Leclanché says it has finalised a $28.9m deal to supply the primary battery and power-conversion equipment to the project, with the single order representing a 53% boost on the Swiss company’s 2015 turnover.
