Located in north Joshua Tree, the plant covers 61 hectares and uses more than 75,000 SunEdison Silvantis PV modules.
Cascade will supply electricity to San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) through a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
The project's PPA was awarded under the reverse auction-based California Renewable Auction Mechanism (RAM).
It is the largest solar project so far to come online under RAM and the first constructed for SDG&E through the programme.
