JLR has deployed 21,000 modules for a capacity of 5.8MW onits EngineManufacturing Centre in Staffordshire, in the English Midlands.

The Indian-owned auto group said the PV array – which currently meetsabout 30% of the engine plant’s needs – will be expanded to 6.3MW by the year’send.

The £500m ($829m) factory will produce engines for Jaguar’s newXE vehicle.

The JLR installation surpasses the 5MW rooftop deployment openedlast year by rival luxury car-maker Bentley on its factory in northern England.
