Toshiba will supply the PV panels, a spokesperson for Tokyo-based Orix tells Recharge.
The project is situated on a former golf course in the city of Tsu, Mie prefecture. Orix expects to start running the plant in May 2016.
Orix -- which also owns geothermal and woodchip biomass plants -- is currently developing roughly 400MW of PV in Japan. It is working with several module suppliers, including Solar Frontier and Sharp,
