The Tokyo-based company did not disclose the terms of the deal or the PV module supplier.

The project is now being built on 37 hectares of land in the city of Nasushiobara, north of the prefectural capital of Utsunomiya.

Renova expects to start the plant in September 2015. The installation will generate enough electricity to supply 7,000 households per year, it said in an online statement.
