EDF Mass project begins operation

EDF Renewable Energy and partner Sage Stone say the Lepomis 5.99MW solar PV project in Massachusetts south of Boston has begun commercial operation.

Construction began last October on the facility which utilizes 20,000 Trina solar modules. The Town of Wareham is purchasing all the power under a long-term agreement.

“EDF Renewable Energy is pleased to deploy our solar development expertise to help the state achieve its ambitious goal of 1,600 MW of solar installations by 2020,” says Jim Schretter, vice president of development for EDF’s East Region.

EDF will provide long-term operations and maintenance for the facility, balance of plant, project oversight, and 24/7 remote monitoring from its Operations Control Center that manage renewable energy project across North America.
