The $50m facility is due for completion at the end of 2015.
Windiga Energy signed an agreement with Burkina Faso’s government enabling it to become the first independent solar energy producer in the West African nation.
It now allows the company to finalize a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the National Electricity Company of Burkina (SONABEL).
Potential project investors include the African Development Bank and the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund.
