SPI Solar reveals 50MW China plan
A unit of SPI Solar will build and develop a 50MW solar plant in southeastern China.
Xinyu Xinwei New Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of the developer and EPC contractor, has secured a deal with the authorities in Fenyi county, Jiangxi province, to construct the project.
It will be one of the biggest utility-scale PV projects in Jiangxi, said SPI Solar. It did not say when it expects to complete the plant.
The San Francisco-based company is majority-owned by LDK Solar, the PV group now in liquidation in the Cayman Islands.
