E-CL, a subsidiary of GDF Suez, and the main power company in the region are developing the Pampa Camarones Solar Park.
Acciona intends to complete first phase construction under a turnkey contract over eight months with work getting underway Thursday. It will operate and maintain the facility for the initial two years after it enters commercial operation.
The plant will provide power equivalent to consumption by 7,000 homes in northern Chile.
